Document Audit Clerk

Up to £18,000 DOE

A well-known legal practice are seeking an motivated administrative professional to join their reputable team in their Southampton office. The team work with a range of clients from owner managed businesses to large national and multi-national companies, public and AIM listed companies, limited liability partnership, private company, local government body, or a charitable trust, as well as individuals.

They are experts across a range of matters to include:

  • Settlement Agreements
  • Reviewing and drafting documentation such as contracts of employment, service agreements, bonus schemes, staff handbooks, policies and procedures and Settlement Agreements
  • Drafting and enforcing restrictive covenants
  • Managing and handling severance negotiations, including senior executive terminations and Settlement Agreements
  • Advising on redundancies, including collective redundancies
  • Discrimination complaints and investigations
  • Flexible working and work/life balance issues
  • Advising on strategic issues such as trade unions, pension changes and information and consultation in the workplace
  • Employee tax issues
  • Assistance with data protection issues
  • Business transfers
  • Conducting and advising on all aspects of employment tribunal claims

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking instructions and progressing the files under the solicitor`s instructions
  • Assisting the team with complex matters
  • Attending to clients of the firm
  • Drafting a wide range of legal documentation such as settlement agreements and contracts of employment
  • Researching law and preparation of advice notes
  • Review Contracts of Employment and Staff Handbooks
  • Active involvement within business development
  • Maintaining a professional and polite demeanour at all times
  • Secretarial support is provided to all fee earning members of the team

Desired skills:

  • Fast and accurate typing skills
  • Knowledge of Employment law
  • Client focused
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer programmes e.g. MS Office and online time recording.
