I am currently looking to recruit a Full Time Practice Development Nurse to join a Specialist Brain Injury Neurological Care and Rehabilitation Service in Greenwich.

The centre provides a person-centred inpatient rehabilitation and care for male and female adolescents and adults (over 17 years) with a brain injury or other complex neurological condition.
Throughout their stay with us, our patients are encouraged to make individual choices about all aspects of life at the centre and to be as independent as possible.

Our Staff Nurses play an instrumental role in the lives of individuals, supporting and encouraging them to achieve their goals and ambitions.

As a Practice Development Nurse (Registered Nurse) working in Specialist Brain Injury Neurological Care and Rehabilitation Service, your main duties will be:

  1. Providing professional nursing input and care for patients across the hospital by taking a lead role in the provision and facilitation of a physical and well-being clinic including:
  2. Health screening
  3. Weight watchers
  4. Smoking reduction/cessation
  5. Drug & Alcohol Awareness
  6. Liaising with General Practice
  7. A lead for infection control
  8. Provision of phlebotomy
  9. Educating staff


To be considered for the role of Practice Development Nurse you must be:

  • A Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Mental Health, Adult, Child, Learning Disabilities) appropriate to the job
  • Able to maintain professional standards of practice at all times
  • Flexible and adaptable, well organised and able to manage time and workload effectively in line with the needs of the service.
  • Person centred, showing empathy with a desire to make a difference
  • Professional in your approach to customer care
  • Motivated with the desire to expand your professional development and support organisational change
  • Able to provide demonstrable experience of working in mental health and of enhancing care
  • Legally entitled to work in the UK
