Our client based in Woking requires an experienced Sheet Metal Operator.

The purpose of this role is to support the Fabrication Supervisor in all Secondary Operations activities to meet customer delivery schedules and quality expectations. Experience gained within light metal fabrication environment is key.

A hands-on role with great flexibility is required to operate across a range of light metal production equipment.

Working hours as follows, with flexibility required:

Mon to Thu 07:45 – 12:00 and 12:30 - 16:30

Fri 07:45 – 11:45

Core duties:

  • Review daily production plan/targets with reporting Supervisor, highlighting any possible critical paths and/or concerns.
  • Fabricate/Manufacture/Assemble product in accordance with supplied documentation.
  • Maintain the highest level of workmanship in line with QA defined standards and ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process.
  • Focus on supporting and minimising job change over times.
  • Check and complete all traceable information associated with the manufacturing data pack (routing/process progressions, first offs, in process and last off inspections)

The successful candidate will have the following experiences and attributes:

  • 7+ years’ experience within a Light Manufacturing Metal Fabrication environment, mechanically biased and skilled in various disciplines including welding, cutting, fabricating techniques and operation of CNC Brake Press, Guillotine, etc.
  • Understand design principles of light metal work and be able to read, verify and interpret production drawings, material specifications and technical standards.
  • Knowledge of the materials, machinery and equipment related to metal fabrication/manufacturing.
  • Some understanding of Quality Systems.
  • Experienced in working to tight deadlines.
