Position Concept:

  • Maintain Quality and Environmental Certification against ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards, and other standards as may be adopted.
  • Responsible for providing Company Management appropriate support, direction and associated leadership to those within the Quality Department for Assurance, Control and Inspection responsibilities.
  • Responsible for providing Quality Management System Regulatory and Directive support to ensure products are manufactured to the required regulations, standards and specifications.
  • Participates in the establishment and improvement of the Quality Management Systems, Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, Audit Schedule / Plans and Site quality goals.
  • Champion the improvement of the Quality Management System Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Forms with each Department Process Owner.
  • Maintain the appropriate wording of the authorised Quality Policy.
  • Obtain an authorised Annual Audit Schedule / Plan; serves as the Company Management representative for 2nd and 3rd Party contacts.
  • Manage Quality Department personnel by interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating job performance through appraisal, disciplining, scheduling work and other related responsibilities.
  • Provide awareness and Standard Operating Procedural Training as required.
  • Be the Process Owner for Quality Standard Operating Procedure(s).
  • Responsible for management of the document and change control system i.e. including SOPs, Forms, Work Instructions, employee training records and other appropriate site-specific Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Represent the company at Customer, Supplier and 3rd Party liaison assessment progress meetings.
  • Evaluate, analyse and report to management the status of the Quality Management System & compliance; propose containment, corrective, prevention action and lessons learnt.
  • Communicate with Management and Stakeholders to assure adequate resources to meet Quality Department objectives and support operational needs.
  • As part of the management team take responsibility and actions as and when required.
  • Participate in Project Management Team.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on involvement with maintenance and improvement of a Quality Systems Management System in the Automotive Sector (IATF16949); Experience in Aerospace, Medical Device and Industrial industries may be additionally beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Regulations, Directives and Standards published by ISO, IATF, MDS, etc.
  • Good technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Statistical Process Control and knowledge of Statistical Analysis Techniques.
  • Firm grasp of product/process validation requirements and methods.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or other technical area, or well documented equivalent experience associated with Automotive Tier 1 supplier.
  • Qualified IATF16949 Internal Auditor (ISO Certified Lead Auditor certification is desirable).
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE/CQI) or Green/Black Belt Six Sigma are desirable.
  • Experienced in ensuring Risk and Opportunity are balanced.
