Senior Production Technician

Workshop recruitment have recently partnered up with a globally leading steel and technology group and they are actively looking for a Senior Production Technician to join their team on the south coast.

Purpose of position of the Senior Production Technician

Manufacture, assembly and test of company systems and sub-systems.

All wiring to be to minimum IPC/WHMA-A-620 standard.

All soldering (surface mount, pin through hole, rework) to minimum IPC/WHMA-A-610 standard.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Responsible for the build of company products; from engineer drawings, circuit diagrams and wiring schematics.
  • Value Engineering where appropriate of both current and new assemblies to increase the value of the product either by improving its function or reducing its cost (or both).
  • Ensure that products are manufactured and assembled to meet or exceed the quality expectations of the company and its clients. Best practice methods to be used and company Design Guidelines to be followed.
  • Involvement with product test on a regular basis.
  • Collate and present detailed manufacturing and build records. Ensure route cards are completed accurately and timely. This includes updating on company MRP system as required.
  • Manage the calibration of tools and test equipment.
  • Support Production Manager in keeping COSHH records up to date.
  • Liaise with the Production Manager on quality issues, technical problems and maintaining agreed production plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring that production facilities are clean, presentable and safe. Identify any issues to the management team.
  • Present weekly timesheet information.

Candidate attributes

  • Technical knowledge in an electronics background
  • Knowledge of engineer drawings, circuit diagrams & wiring schematics
  • Knowledgeable in Manufacturing processes
  • Stores and stock control experience
  • Able to communicate and work well within a team
  • City & Guilds in Electronics – desirable
  • ONC in Electronics –desirable

Package

  • £25,000 - £29,000 Depending on experience
  • 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
  • Generous pension contribution of 5% rather than standard 3%
  • 37.5 hours a week with flexi working (start time between 7am-9am, finish between 4pm-6pm)
  • Free onsite parking
  • Death in service
  • Other benefits upon request
