Sales Executive - Machinery Sales

Are you passionate about machinery or technical products and enjoy building strong customer relationships? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machinery Sales Executive to join a successful, family-run business supplying specialist equipment across the South of England. The Machinery Sales Executive role is about much more than simply closing sales. This is NOT a cold calling sales role, but more consultative with inbound sales conversions. You’ll develop long-term relationships with new and existing customers, understand their requirements and guide them through the process from initial enquiry to purchase and aftercare.

As a Machinery Sales Executive, you’ll represent a range of respected machinery products across sectors including agriculture, construction, groundscare and forestry. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your product knowledge through manufacturer-specific training while becoming a valued member of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and develop machinery sales opportunities from initial enquiry to completion
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable machinery solutions
  • Promote and develop the company’s machinery product portfolio
  • Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the sales process
  • Attend occasional trade shows and industry events
  • Work collaboratively with the sales team to manage stock levels
  • Support social media activity and product promotion

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of machinery/large technical products
  • Confident, engaging and customer-focused communication style
  • Genuine ability to build and maintain lasting relationships
  • Commercially driven with a strong desire to succeed
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Organised approach with the ability to manage leads effectively
  • Positive team player with a proactive attitude

Salary
Up to £40,000 per year depending on experience

Working Hours
8am – 5pm Monday to Friday (1:4 Saturday mornings may be introduced with a Friday afternoon given in lieu)
