Detailed Description:

  • Provide hands-on quality support to production teams, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly to minimise disruption.
  • Investigate production, supplier, and customer quality issues, driving timely resolution and permanent corrective action.
  • Raise, manage, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring effective containment and disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis.
  • Implement, monitor, and verify Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
  • Support production teams in maintaining quality standards and improving right-first-time performance.
  • Analyse quality data and trends to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in internal audits and support external customer and certification audits where required.
  • Produce and maintain quality documentation, inspection records, NCR reports, and corrective action records.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.

Requirements:

  • HNC, HND, Degree, or Apprenticeship served qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and quality assurance principles.
  • Proven experience managing NCRs, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA activities.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
  • Experience using measurement and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Experience analysing quality data and producing clear reports and recommendations.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
