Detailed Description:
Provide hands-on quality support to production teams, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly to minimise disruption.
Investigate production, supplier, and customer quality issues, driving timely resolution and permanent corrective action.
Raise, manage, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring effective containment and disposition of non-conforming materials.
Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities using structured problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and Pareto Analysis.
Implement, monitor, and verify Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
Support production teams in maintaining quality standards and improving right-first-time performance.
Analyse quality data and trends to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with Engineering and Operations to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational efficiency.
Participate in internal audits and support external customer and certification audits where required.
Produce and maintain quality documentation, inspection records, NCR reports, and corrective action records.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing waste, scrap, rework, and customer complaints.
Requirements:
HNC, HND, Degree, or Apprenticeship served qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline.
Experience in a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of quality systems, inspection methods, and quality assurance principles.
Proven experience managing NCRs, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA activities.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production environments.
Experience using measurement and inspection equipment.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience analysing quality data and producing clear reports and recommendations.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
