Are you an experienced CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator who can confidently set, prove and operate CNC lathes while producing high-quality precision components? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing business investing heavily in its machining capability and future growth. Working a four-day twilight shift, you'll play a key role in producing precision aluminium components within a modern, quality-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set, prove and operate CNC Vertical Lathes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Machine precision components to tight tolerances.
  • Complete first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
  • Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges and other measuring equipment.
  • Monitor tooling performance and suggest process improvements.
  • Record inspection results, downtime and scrap accurately.
  • Support continuous improvement activities while maintaining high safety standards.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Previous experience as a CNC Vertical Lathe Setter/Operator or CNC Lathe Setter.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings confidently.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Good understanding of machining tolerances.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • Proactive approach with pride in producing quality work.
  • Experience with PUMA CNC machines would be advantageous but is not essential.
