Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer, delivering high-quality, precision components to a range of industries including aerospace, defence and oil & gas This role involves carrying out operational tasks within your assigned area while supporting ongoing training and improvement initiatives. You will continuously build your knowledge of products and processes, taking responsibility for your work and contributing positively to the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
Support management at all levels in achieving business objectives
Adhere to all Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards
Develop a strong understanding of all activities within your work area
Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all workspaces
Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by management
New Product Introduction & Development
Carry out hands-on tool assembly, inspections, trials, and testing
Perform high-level inspections (CMM, ISIR, FAIRs)
Support product development projects with technical input
Train colleagues in rubber moulding processes
Engage with customers where required
Production Support
Perform general engineering tasks including press builds, repairs, maintenance, and improvements
Conduct inspections (CMM, ISIR, FAIRs) and provide training as needed
Create work instructions and sales/inspection drawings
Assist with production troubleshooting
Take ownership of non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions (CAPAs)
Support training activities across the team
Apply strong mechanical engineering knowledge
Skills & Attributes
Self-motivated with excellent timekeeping
Strong team player with the ability to build professional relationships
Flexible, enthusiastic, and positive in approach
Committed to continuous learning and personal development
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
Benefits and hours
8-5 Monday to Thursday 8-3 Friday
30 min lunch (other breaks as required, IE if working in Production area, can take tea breaks, if in the office, cuppa at your desk)
Standard company pension after 3 months
Uniform supplied, obviously safety equipment
Social Fund for events – Christmas Party, fully funded including partners and Taxis.
25 Days holiday, every 5 Years served, gets an additional day per year (Max of 3), also Holiday buy / sell scheme , up to 3 days either direction.
Usual bank holiday.
