Workshop Recruitment is supporting a well-established engineering and manufacturing business in Southampton that is looking to recruit a skilled CNC Turner to join its growing team.

This CNC Turner position offers the opportunity to work on bespoke engineering projects and specialist mechanical components used in demanding applications. Working within a modern workshop, you'll manufacture high-quality parts in titanium, aluminium and bronze, taking ownership from drawing through to finished component.

This is an ideal opportunity for a CNC Turner who takes pride in their work and enjoys variety, technical challenges and low-volume manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, program and operate CNC turning machines.
  • Manufacture one-off and small-batch components.
  • Work from engineering drawings and 3D models.
  • Edit and prove out programs at the machine control.
  • Utilise live tooling and sub-spindle capabilities where applicable.
  • Conduct in-process inspection and quality checks.
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures and machine performance.
  • Ensure finished components meet required specifications.

Skills & Knowledge Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner.
  • Strong setting, operating and programming capability.
  • Ability to edit programs at the machine control.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Quality-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with Siemens controls is desirable.
  • Experience within marine, aerospace, motorsport, defence or similar engineering environments advantageous.
