Our client pays a key role within the rail industry and provides a wide range of off-track solutions in partnership with main rail contractors. Our client has recently seen significant growth and has recently been awarded Principal Contractor to major contractors within the rail industry.

The vacancy is that of a POS (Plant Operations Scheme) Representative and Crane Controller. You will also be required to carry out COSS (Controller of Site Safety) duties. This would be on a full-time (Monday to Friday, 0730 to 1630 with a 1-hour unpaid break), permanent basis. You will be working in direct support of the in-house track plant team and will help to deliver safe operations on a wide range of projects along the railway.

You will also be responsible for the onsite management of OTP (On-Track Plant) operations and act as the point of contact to ensure that all works are delivered safely and efficiently, on time and to budget. ‍

Prior to work, you’ll take responsibility for the preparation and issue of POS packs, lift plans and documents in line with the company’s procedures and regulations. Working with other in-house teams and departments you will help to plan plant resources to support projects across the business.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good understanding of POSS Safe Works
  • Understanding of standards and regulations to ensure safe operation on track
  • Hold valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) Qualification
  • Hold valid COSS Qualification
  • Hold valid Crane Controller Qualification
  • Prior experience acting as a POS Representative
  • Understanding of the lift planning processes and holding a valid Lift Planner certificate
  • Experience in delivering Toolbox Talks and Operation Briefings
