Our client is looking for a skilled cabinet maker to join their team at their new premise in Ditchling. As a cabinet maker you will be responsible for constructing cabinets, shelves and other bespoke wooden furniture. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in cabinetry making and have a relevant qualification. Although this is a permanent role, we may look at temporary or contract candidates.

Duties

  • Construct and assemble cabinets according to specifications
  • Install cabinets in residential or commercial spaces
  • Repair and refurbish existing cabinets
  • Measure and cut wood to the required dimensions
  • Install hardware such as hinges, handles, and knobs
  • Ensure cabinets are level and secure
  • Collaborate with designers and clients to create custom cabinet designs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills

  • Proficient in carpentry techniques and woodworking principles
  • Ability to operate power tools such as saws, drills, and sanders
  • Knowledge of electrical work for installing lighting fixtures in cabinets
  • Experience with painting and finishing techniques for wooden surfaces
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as chisels, planes, and screwdrivers
