Are you an organised and detail-focused Administrator who thrives in a busy, fast-paced distribution environment? Do you enjoy being the first point of contact, solving problems quickly, and keeping operations running smoothly? Workshop Recruitment is supporting a busy manufacturing and distribution operation in the search for a Distribution Operations Administrator to join the team at their Holbrook facility on an initial 3-month contract. This role will be based in the gatehouse office, acting as a key first point of contact for drivers arriving on site and helping to keep the distribution operation running efficiently. This is a reactive and varied role that requires strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and the ability to deal with changing priorities. Following an initial training period on a 6:00am–2:00pm shift, the role will move onto a rotating 6:00am–2:00pm / 2:00pm–10:00pm shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities
Act as first point of contact for drivers reporting to site
Allocate drivers and manage vehicle arrivals and departures
Maintain accurate logs and ensure all documentation is correct
Support despatch and receipts administration through internal systems
Coordinate with warehouse, transport planners, and customer service teams
Assist with parcel carrier processing and load paperwork
Help manage departmental administration, records, and reporting
Resolve day-to-day operational issues with a proactive, can-do approach
Skills & Knowledge Required
Previous administration experience within a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Confident communicator with a professional and helpful approach
Able to manage changing priorities and work reactively
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Organised and able to work effectively under pressure
Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused attitude
Experience in warehouse, logistics, or distribution administration advantageous
