About the Role

Our client is a well-established building maintenance company seeking an experienced Plumber to join their growing team in the Portsmouth area.

Working on a social housing contract, you will carry out reactive maintenance and planned repairs within occupied and void domestic properties. You'll be responsible for delivering a high standard of workmanship while providing excellent customer service to tenants, must live within good travelling distance of Portsmouth and have a clean driver’s license.

  • £20.00 per hour.
  • Temporary to permanent opportunity.
  • Company van and fuel card provided.
  • Uniform supplied.
  • PAYE option available following the qualifying temporary period.
  • Long-term work with a well-established property maintenance contractor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out all aspects of domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair leaks, pipework, taps, toilets, showers, baths, and sanitary ware.
  • Complete first and second fix plumbing works.
  • Install and replace bathroom suites where required.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs.
  • Work safely and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Communicate professionally with tenants, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Keep accurate records of completed works.
  • Maintain your company vehicle, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience as a domestic plumber.
  • Experience working within the Social Housing or Property Maintenance sector preferred.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Must live within approximately 20 miles of Portsmouth.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check prior to employment.

Desirable Skills

  • Basic tiling following plumbing repairs.
  • Minor patch repairs and making good after plumbing work.
  • Experience working in occupied and void properties.
