World Menopause Awareness Day 2023

Date: 18th October 2023
Author: Abbi King

18th October is recognised as World Menopause Day, as well as the month of October being dedicated to raising awareness of the menopause and the support options available to the people experiencing it.

The workplace should be a safe space for people to discuss the topic and know that their colleagues and management have a good understanding of the effects the menopause can have on the individuals experiencing it.

If you are an employee currently experiencing menopausal symptoms, there is no better time to speak out and ensure your employer is providing the support you need. Education is key and often a simple conversation can lead to a better understanding and the ability to implement small changes that can make a big difference.

If you are an employer, it is important to be aware that the menopause and its symptoms can affect staff at various times and in many different ways. This month you could spend some time checking your company policies relating to this subject, and implementing any changes that could help support employees. At Workshop we are proud to offer a multi-platform support
programme called 360 Wellbeing. This service is available to all of our employees and we are pleased to see this includes a free Menopause Health webinar taking place next week:

By fostering an open and flexible approach we can all enable our team members to continue to do their job effectively and with confidence.
