For any successful organisation, recognising and rewarding your employees is essential to maintaining a motivated and engaged workforce. Showing your appreciation for the hard work your employees put in is key to retaining your talent, increasing engagement and encouraging greater output.
In this blog post we share our top ways to recognise and reward your workforce
Performance based recognition
Performance based recognition schemes can be highly motivating for individuals. Implementing a structured rewards scheme that links directly to an individual or team performance, will not only motivate employees to perform at their best, but also encourages team work.
Employee of the Month
Having an employee of the month programme is an excellent way to highlight those that have gone above and beyond the expectations of the job. This is great way to recognise outstanding work in front of the rest of the team or company. Consider offering a trophy or extra perk to be enjoyed for the month.
Personal Thank You’s
Never underestimate the power of a personal thank you. This could be a hand written note, email or just a simple face to face encounter. Receiving this from management keeps a human aspect to the role and will mean a lot to employees.
Team Rewards
Ultimately each person performing to a high level individually will only propel your team and company results forward. If a team have performed particularly well, consider treating them together. This not only thanks them for their hard work but also helps build cohesion between the team members.
Ask your employees what they want
One of the best ways to reward your employees is by giving them what they want - within reason! Money isn’t always the biggest motivator for people, so by spending some time understanding them as individuals, what drives them to work their hardest and what rewards they would value most will give you an insight in to whether your current rewards are working the way you
want them to.
