Portsmouth | £20 per Hour + Company Van + Fuel Card + Uniform | Full-Time | Self-Employed with PAYE Option After 3 Months
Are you an experienced Multi Trader with strong carpentry, plumbing and general property maintenance skills? A well-established building and maintenance business is looking for experienced Multi Traders to support a busy social housing contract across the Portsmouth area. You will carry out reactive maintenance, planned works and repairs within occupied and void domestic properties. This is a varied, hands-on Multi Trader role requiring someone who can work independently, manage their own workload and confidently complete repairs across several trades.
Job Responsibilities
* Complete first and second fix carpentry and plumbing repairs. * Carry out kitchen and bathroom installations. * Repair minor leaks and replace sanitary ware. * Complete ceramic wall tiling, vinyl flooring and general floor repairs. * Undertake painting and decorating works where required. * Carry out basic external property maintenance and repair works. * Work safely with non-licensed asbestos where required following full training. * Maintain your company van, tools and materials in a clean and organised condition.
Skills & Knowledge Required
* Demonstrate strong experience working as a Multi Trader within domestic properties. * Have practical skills across carpentry, plumbing, decorating, tiling and flooring. * Be confident soldering and completing general plumbing repairs. * Possess good knowledge of construction materials and repair methods. * Have experience within social housing or residential maintenance. * Work independently and manage daily jobs effectively. * Provide a professional service when dealing with residents. * Hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
Applicants should ideally live within approximately 20 miles of Portsmouth and must be willing to complete a DBS check if required. This is initially a self-employed position, with the option to move onto a PAYE arrangement after approximately three months, subject to availability and suitability. Candidates will also need to provide two suitable references. A company van, fuel card and uniform will be supplied.
