Workshop Recruitment began working with Lead Forensics when it was founded in 2010 as CEO Paul Thomas had worked with Workshop extensively in his previous company. Paul explains:
‘Because we had a strong history of working with Workshop already, it made sense for them to help us recruit employee two, three, four and five. From there, Workshop have helped us successfully recruit to build an established business of over 450 employees. There are so many people in the business who were hired because of Workshop Recruitment and they are are still adding to our numbers today.’
In the early days, Workshop Recruitment sourced talent to fill roles right across the board, from sales and marketing to specialist data positions, PAs to senior management. Although in 2014 Lead Forensics created an internal recruitment team that has now grown to seven employees, Paul still uses Workshop Recruitment’s services. He says:
‘As a start-up, using an agency was the most efficient way of getting people through the door. The internal recruitment team we’ve developed is highly successful, but we still utilise Workshop’s support to supplement what they do. No matter how good your own internal team is, there is always talent out there that you can’t get your hands on. There is a challenge in recruiting for some areas, like sales, marketing and customer success roles, so we often look for extra help in these areas and Workshop is our first call.’
Workshop Recruitment strives to fully understand its clients’ company culture and hiring requirements to deliver the most successful candidates. Paul says:
‘Finding people that fit with our values and culture is very important to us. We are very goal oriented and motivated to win so we need to ensure that people coming in are aligned with our attitude and values. Often agencies have a high turnover of consultants but we’ve had the same people looking after us from Workshop since we began our operations. This means they fully understand the culture and ambition of Lead Forensics and can find people who match that.’
Open communication is vital for sustaining successful relationships and Workshop tries to always deliver what it says it will. Paul says:
‘Workshop Recruitment are always honest in terms of what they can and can’t do, and how the market is operating. There are no false promises, so if they can deliver, they do, and if they’re struggling, they tell us.
The transparency the Workshop team have with my recruitment team, senior managers and at board level is why we keep going back to them. We have a strong motivation for success and an ethos of not giving up and we look for the same in our staff and agencies. I know I can have an honest conversation with Workshop and if I ever did feel that, as a supplier, they aren’t meeting our values, I know they’d welcome the feedback, take it on board and work even harder for us’.
