World Mental Health Day 2024

Date: 16th October 2024
Author: Rachel Wardle

Today we mark, World Mental Health Day 2024. The theme this year is ‘It is Time to Prioritise Mental Health in the Workplace’.

The campaign is dedicated to advocating for mental health within the workplace. This includes understanding the signs of mental health issues, which can be difficult to spot, often due to sufferers hiding symptoms for fear of prejudice, fearing judgement from others, especially in the workplace.

These symptoms can manifest in physical symptoms, such as headaches, stomach aches, feeling tired all the time, despite being well-rested, as well as symptoms harder to describe, such as perennially feeling low or down, withdrawing from social activities with friends and family or having significant changes to your sleeping or eating habits.

It is important to recognise these symptoms in yourself and others and act on them. Mental health is just as important as physical health, so let’s make sure we look after it.
