13th-19th May is Mental Health Awareness Week. This week serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of acknowledging and supporting mental well-being in all aspects of our lives.
Every year 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem but sadly, too many people are not getting the help they need.
This year’s theme ‘Movement: Moving more for our mental health’ encourages everyone to find moments for movement in their daily routine. Moving more can have significant effects on our mental
health including; increased energy levels, reducing stress and anxiety and boosting your self-esteem. This could be as simple as a walk in the local park, listening to your favourite music whilst dancing at home, or chair exercises whilst watching your favourite TV shows.
This week we encourage everyone to check in on their loved ones, and get moving to support Mental Health Awareness Week and improve our own wellbeing.
