Competitive Salary plus Bonus and Car / Car Allowance

For 70 years my client has proudly designed and manufactured cutting edge, stylish, high quality industry leading products. They currently seek a National Account Manager reporting the Channel Manager.

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the distribution of group brands in a specific channel with a category management focus in order to achieve the volume of profit objectives within the company`s sales and marketing plans. You will develop and implement retail specific activities to deliver category leadership across portfolio of products and brands.

Key elements of the role are:

  • Business Planning Management
  • Category management approach across all brands
  • Customer Forecast Management
  • Manage and monitor net sales and profitability
  • Monitor retailer`s performance by volume, value & profitability
  • Maintain strong relationships with accounts
  • Achieve distribution for new lines & advise on appropriate product listings
  • Leads shopper brand execution through Key Account Executive
  • Reviews return on investment from shopper activity
  • Maintain accurate systems and customer records
  • Maintain strong external and internal communications
  • Arrange product-training courses for customer staff
  • Control promotional budget spend


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ability to understand and interpret the market, products and services
  • Highly numerate, ability to turn data into information and action
  • Presentation and good interpersonal skills.
  • Broad knowledge of UK retail and wholesale small domestic appliance industry.
  • Excellent all-round communicator, possessing strong electronic, written and oral communication abilities, with ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Effective negotiator with strong communication skills
  • Current driving licence
  • Experience at account management level within FMCG/consumer durables or equivalent.
  • Best in class commercial skills, with the ability to make sound, informed decisions based on solid commercial facts.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to analyse, absorb, reflect and respond to data information.
  • Desire to be the expert on the channel and retailers and shares this internally to achieve the strongest results
  • Knowledgeable in current and emerging work practices, trends, technology affecting the business
  • Influences others by effectively articulating perspective / position
  • Analytical - Analyses data and information; Applies logical thinking to solve problems or make decisions
  • Applies a logical thinking to solve problems and find solutions for the retailer
  • Communication : strong influencing, negotiating and rapport building
  • Interpersonal- Relates well to all kinds of people (colleagues and external stakeholders); Builds constructive and effective relationships
  • Planning & Organising - Arranges information / data in a logical manner
  • Business acumen : Applies business knowledge to decision making
  • Home based role, must be within 2 hours of Portsmouth head office.
