Business Development Manager

£28-30K plus commission

Portsmouth

Our client requires a Business Development Manager who will to target specific businesses to book high quality demo appointments for its Sales team. The role will use a variety of approaches including email marketing, business networking tools, cold calling and incoming enquiries to develop these appointments. In this role you will be expected to make 20-30 targeted calls and approaches each day in order to deliver a consistent number of demonstration appointments, approx. 3 per week.

This role offers an excellent basic salary with commission that should lead to an OTE of £40K in year one. There are excellent personal development opportunities within the business and the company offers a dynamic working environment with great leadership. Benefits include 21 days holiday rising to 25 days with service, free parking, gym access to name but a few.

Duties

  • A high level of attention to detail is essential in this role due to the level of contact the client is targeting, and the volume of messaging required across a multi-channel approach.
  • Contact will be across email, telephone and Linked In - following a set plan
  • You will be approaching enterprise level businesses
  • Building appropriate rapport and having intelligent conversations with contacts based on research conducted ahead of calling
  • Generating web demonstrations, booking directly into the Sales Team diary
  • Using online resource, you will be an expert at researching, capturing key information to support the qualification and sales process
  • Delivering a consistent weekly number of booked and sat demos (3 sat per week)
  • Being proactive in the approach to these accounts and thinking strategically about messaging

Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience in a telemarketing or demo / appointment generation role is essential
  • Business 2 business experience
  • Happy to make outbound calls consistently each day
  • A passion for hitting targets
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, able to articulate well at Director level
