The Head of Sales will be accountable for the performance of the Sales department, against agreed business plans. Responsible for the development and management of direct reports (Sales Teams Managers) to lead and motivate their own teams, to achieve their targets and objectives.

Key Duties

  • To oversee the day-to-day operations for the Contact Centre, taking accountability for the delivery of the daily/monthly/annual sales and revenue targets.
  • Develop an effective leadership team of Sales Team Managers to achieve and exceed agreed targets, whilst ensuring consistency of their performance.
  • Work closely with support functions and ensure communication is maintained between all departments, Sales, Marketing and Customer Service and Training.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and lead the implementation of change to contribute towards the growth of the department
  • Identify recruitment needs against headcount budget for the Sale department, whilst working to increase retention.
  • Facilitating a culture of open and honest communication; ensuring key messages are cascaded to all team members, encouraging feedback, the sharing of ideas and best practice

Skills and Knowledge

  • A highly commercial individual, with a proven record of management skills to include analysis, identifying trends and the ability to make timely decisions and take appropriate action based on findings
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive internal and external relationships, both sideways and upward
  • Demonstrable experience of effective leadership in a targeted contact centre environment / sales floor
  • An articulate individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise workload to deliver against deadlines and business targets.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities or duties as driven by business needs – an advocate for change
