Unit Lead

I am currently seeking to recruit an experienced Nurse Qualified Unit Manager to lead and manage a small Dementia Nursing Unit within a modern, top of the range nursing home based in Croydon. The role is 36 hours per week.

You will be responsible for managing the Unit and leading a team to ensure the delivery of excellent standards of care. Another part of the role is to maintain high levels of care to elderly patients and ones with dementia. You will also be responsible for creating and evaluating care plans.

Key Responsibilities


1. Ensure the highest possible standards of care - continually assessing residents` needs and wishes.
2. Build the positive reputation of the home and unit; liaise professionally with visitors. Ensure team communication is professional and considered.
3. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and best practice guidelines : identify, investigate and resolve risks proactively.
4. Oversee all aspects of medicine management : ensuring medicines are appropriately received, stored and administered.
5. Set in place rigorous monitoring and recording practice; documenting efficiently, and thoroughly, all matters relating to our residents and employees.
6. Proactively monitor all standards of care; undertaking audits and implementing corrective action where appropriate.
9. Promote high standards of nursing care for you and your team, actively seeking ways to improve levels of service.
10. To assist with all people management duties, including recruitment, training and career development, performance management and effective delegation of duties.

Benefits:

  • Salary of between £33,696 per annum or hourly rate of £18p/h

What the Candidate requires


• A nursing Qualification with Valid NMC Pin Number (RGN or RMN)
• Successful candidates must have a sound understanding of the CQC`s standards of practice alongside an up-to-date knowledge of all other relevant legislation.
• A clean DBS
• Experience in working with elderly care would be preferable
• 2 Referees
