Our client based near Portsmouth area requires a Service Centre Technician.

Purpose:

To assist in the repair or service of all in and out of Warranty products returned to the Internal Service Centre. To learn & understand the process of analysing / fault finding to determine the correct repair and components that are required.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Repair or service products for customers both in and out of warranty
  • To ensure all customer details are entered correctly onto the Sap Service Tool
  • Complete the Service Booklet
  • Check that the product is electrically tested and safe for purpose before returning to the customer
  • Product testing and fault analysis

Main Responsibilities:

  • Identifying the correct customer return against the customer case number
  • Fault find and repair product using own judgement
  • Report failures of a serious nature to the relevant departments IE Customer Experience, Engineering, Group Quality, and Service Technical
  • Populate repair data and machine statistics into the Sap Service Tool
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety regulations
  • Understanding of the Key Performance Indicator board and cost implications associated
  • Use the DLS Website to find exploded view diagrams, technical bulletins and current components
  • Shadowing of a Senior Service Centre Technician
  • Provide feedback to improve the operation efficiency, quality and wellbeing of the Department
  • Any other duties as requested by the Lead Technician or Service & Retail Store Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Polite and courteous particularly when dealing with customers
  • Ability to relay technical information simply so it is clearly understood
  • Logical thinker
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer Literate
  • Team player
  • Technical ability
  • Previous experience

Desirable:

  • 2 years’ experience working within the Electrical/Mechanical Build/Repair industry
  • Experience in reading technical drawing
  • BTEC Qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering Level 2
  • BTEC Qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
