Our client based in the Littlehampton area is looking to recruit an Injection Moulding Technical Manager, the company specialises in injection moulding and cleanroom assembly for medical devices, the role would be to support and lead the Moulding Production team.
You will be responsible for the moulding team, consisting of 21 employees across day and night shifts, as well as the planning and organisation of the Class 8 cleanroom mould shop, which houses 12 injection mould machines ranging from 25 - 220T.
As Injection Moulding Technical Manager, your duties will include:
Managing day-to-day activities of the Moulding Production team, as well as being responsible for team performance, including training, health and safety, sickness, and holidays.
Overseeing all mould tooling maintenance and servicing, liaising with external tooling suppliers.
Acting as point of contact for all tooling enquiries, arranging quotations and managing suppliers for new tools and tooling repairs.
Implementing lean activities and upskilling staff to improve production processes and efficiencies.
To be successful in the role of Injection Moulding Technical Manager, the ideal candidate will:
Be time served with experience in Toolmaking, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Have experience in injection moulding tooling management and/or Manufacturing
Have proven experience in a leadership role within an injection moulding company.
Be proficient in lean techniques (5S).
Possess excellent knowledge of injection mould tooling, tool making, tooling suppliers, and the plastics industry.
Have good computer skills, including the ability to read and write CAD data, project planning, and email communication, along with a solid proficiency in CAD software and project planning tools.
Possess strong customer relationship management and phone manner skills.
Hold a full driving license and have the ability to travel to customer sites.
