On Going Contract

Our client based in the Havant area requires an experienced Assembler/Solderer.

Job Purpose:

  • To be responsible for the build of a range of switching and lighting products and their sub-assemblies through the Production department, in a manner that conforms to company’s policies and procedures, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation to ensure all company targets are met.

Scope:

  • To put together a range of switching and lighting products and their sub-assemblies working from technical drawings and build instructions, using a range of different hand tools including soldering irons and screw drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To build all types of switching and lighting control units to meet production requirements
  • Manufacture of cable assemblies
  • Manufacture of hand soldered PCB assemblies to IPC 610
  • Epoxy potting of keycaps and other metalwork
  • Testing of all product types
  • Adhere to AS9100 standards
  • Complete route card and layouts in correct sequence ensuring operations of build are completed in sequential order only
  • Record consumables used and make sure Tools and TE are in date and correct

Key Skills / Experience

  • Able to balance conflicting output requirements under pressure to consistently achieve results.
  • The company is moving towards a paperless working environment therefore good PC skills are essential as you will access all engineering documentation via PC at your workstation
  • At least 3 years in a production testing environment where similar type of work is undertaken i.e. small batch volume, low to medium value but high in mix of product typically 200 - 300 per month
  • To be able to read technical Drawing and Electrical Schematic Drawings as well as being able to recognise SMD components
  • Knowledge and awareness of ISO9001 and AS9100D standards

Qualifications:

  • Willing to undertake IPC Soldering course
