Our client is looking to recruit a Mould Shop Setter/Operator, they manufacturer traffic calming, site safety and cycle lane products at their site in Alton.
They offer a unique combination of manufacturing processes and technical expertise for a range of innovative products, manufactured in recycled rubber.
Due to company growth, they are looking for a highly skilled Mould Setter/Operator to join the team.
Hours:
Monday – Thursday 13.30 – 00.00 (4 Shifts a week)
Duties include:
Evaluates the technical needs required for the shift in coordination with the supervisor.
Determine and prioritise work assignments to ensure work is completed in a timely manner
Develop, implement, and maintain a proactive technical presence on the shop floor & to the team to ensure optimum machine process and mould utilisation, using ‘Best Practices’ & GMP tools. Suggesting new technology where applicable to enhance manufacturing processes.
Perform mould set ups and changes in an efficient manner according to the production schedule, utilising all the available resources. Support & complete NPI tool trials / Protocols along with development functions to the Technical/Engineering department.
Perform preventative and real time maintenance on all primary Tooling, machinery and auxiliary equipment as required and assists Maintenance department within this process on technical issues as they arise.
Take a proactive approach to planning the workload of the shift to minimise downtime.
Trouble-shoot and repair both mechanical and electrical problems on equipment and provide timely short-term and long-term solutions.
Support the company with quality objectives related to its requirements within; ISO 9001:2008 & AS9100 Rev D. working closely on common goals & initiatives by adhering to the quality system.
To support a quality first approach to daily tasks when meeting & exceeding ‘The Customer’s’ expectations.
Perform duties in a safe, non-hazardous manner in compliance with safety standards
Position Specifications / Requirements:
Technical knowledge to perform the tasks outlined in the description. Solid processing, mould setting, and maintenance background required
Analytical problem solving skills to take a systematic approach to find the root cause and develop appropriate corrective action
Leadership skills to evaluate strengths and development opportunities of technical support on the team and assign responsibilities to maximize these resources
Ability to work independently and coordinate efforts with the overall shift goals as established by the Shift Supervisor
Requires lifting of objects in excess of 15-20 Kg’s to chest height, and there must be sufficient arm strength to properly torque bolts.
Must have the physical skills to kneel, sit and bend to perform the necessary maintenance of the equipment
