The ER Advisor actively supports the operation of the business by providing an effective and professional ER service. This role will deliver a proactive and flexible service by providing relevant and appropriate ER support to all employees and managers, whilst also driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company policies and employment legislation.

Duties

  • Support Line Managers in ER processes, including; disciplinary, grievance, absence management, flexible working requests, maternity/paternity queries, general HR queries and ensuring all relevant paperwork is produced.
  • Lead both reactive and proactive employee relations interventions that have delivered measurable benefits
  • Support Inclusion & Diversity initiatives across the Plant and actively participate in strategic initiatives
  • Assist with project work
  • Work with the HR Business Partners to ensure HR policies and procedures are compliant. Provide legal updates to the HR Team on a regular basis.
  • Use coaching and influencing skills to ensure the right outcome is achieved in each case, managing risk whilst maximising business results.
  • Advise and educate the business in the understanding, ownership and application of all aspects of employment legislation, procedural compliance and best practice.
  • Accurately interpret changes in legislation and codes of practice to ensure the business follows best practice and operates within the parameters of employment law and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the employee engagement and exit survey systems, utilising the data to make recommendations on improving the service.
  • Support the HR Executive Manager in the management of the onsite agency.
  • Provide general administration and an efficient support service as required e.g. updating of time and attendance system, HR spreadsheets, responding to external reference requests etc.
