Accountabilities:

  • To implement and execute current HSE legislation including certification, monitoring and inspection in areas of responsibility.
  • To maintain the building security of all facilities.
  • To safeguard the availability of facilities, equipment and machinery to maximise productivity of the business.
  • Assist in improving and maintaining the availability of all machinery, plant and infrastructure at all the site facilities through a programme of Preventative Maintenance, and the supervision of activities and projects to increase “Mean Time Between Failures” and reduce “Mean Time To Repair”.
  • To safely assist projects relating to facilities to schedule, cost and agreed requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The role is to work within the facilities / maintenance department to drive improvements to reduce machine breakdowns and thereby improve schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
  • Responsible to the Team Leader for maintaining, improving and reporting of an appropriate suite of industrial recognised ‘Key Performance Indicators’
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all service and maintenance records including the Maintenance/Facilities SAP Modules.
  • To provide hands on experience of Electrical/Mechanical/Hydraulic and Pneumatic plant and machinery breakdowns/faults.
  • Day to day monitoring of performance, development, training and succession planning of maintenance team.
  • Manage the network of subcontractors and suppliers on site to ensure safety and reliability is high.
  • Day to Day liaison with Team Leader and communication with other departments.
  • Assist in managing Projects to safely deliver CAPEX and improvement projects to agreed scope, schedule and budget.
  • Support Team Leader in all external audits relating to the business e.g. Emission and Discharge Permits, Environment Agency, Landlord and third party.

Position Description:

  • Assist in the management of the facilities, infrastructure and assets of the business through effective supervision of the in house maintenance team and liaise with a network of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure highest levels of availability are achievable in a safe and effective manner.
  • Manages in accordance with company goals and targets, and legislative/ statutory requirements and coordinates activities to meet objectives set for the area of responsibility.
  • To undertake any activity deemed reasonable and appropriate for this position.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a maintenance / facilities management environment.
  • Experienced in preventative (and reactive) maintenance of manual and CNC machining centres is a distinct advantage.
  • Hands on experience of Hydraulics /Pneumatics /Electrics /Mechanical/Networks is advantageous.
  • Proven team supervision skills.
  • PC Literate (Microsoft) and Complex Maintenance Programmes. SAP experience is desirable.

  • To help develop existing work practices and staff and corporate KPI’s.
  • Continuously challenge the norm to ensure an operational excellent culture is achieved.
