Key Responsibilities:
To assist the Controls & Systems Manager to achieve on-time despatch of deliverables and on-time handover of completed systems at site fit-for-purpose and specifications and to customer satisfaction.
To support the Controls & Systems Manager in delivering and maintaining the highest quality of engineering professionalism and support to colleagues and customers
Main Tasks:
To generate product manufacturing data to time-scale targets as agreed in Production meetings to enable completion and despatch to Company`s delivery and hand-over commitments.
To review new order project file; arrive at a full and correct understanding of the extent of supply and operational/applicational philosophies; identify and allocate all electrical items; resolve technical or information problems; liaise with the Controls & Systems Manager, Sales & Service Managers or customer as necessary and confirm technical issues to customer by E-mail or other written communication.
Assist with project management in the setting and reviewing of project information target issue dates.
To ensure any component, product or scope of supply changes made at any time prior to hand-over of completed plant at site, are completely actioned throughout all mechanical, electrical, software, and documentation/publications disciplines.
Assist as required through the design/build/testing and commissioning phases of projects.
Attend site meetings as discussed and agreed, produce Minutes of Meetings if sole representative of the Company, and undertake equipment tests and modifications in conjunction with Field Service personnel to achieve guaranteed performance levels.
Maintain commercial awareness of personal duties throughout the project handling processes and seek economies and waste reduction, and improve cost reclaim of extras wherever possible.
Provide sales support to promote the Company`s products and assist with advice in the preparation of its quotations.
Maintain good customer relations based on a fair but firm approach to protect the commercial interests of the Company.
Assist Controls & Systems Manager in justifications in claiming extensions in contract time and/or price.
Contribute to and encourage team working at all levels within the Company.
Ensure that all tasks are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with Company Health & Safety Policy, COSHH instructions or other relevant statutory regulations and to report all matters of concern.
Ensure that tasks are carried out in compliance with published ISO 9000 procedures, review and maintain procedures in conjunction with appropriate Manager.
Contribute to and encourage the adoption and maintenance of `Continuous Improvement`, 5 `S`, and `Lean Office` principles by all personnel.
Ensure that during working time your resources are usefully and wholly employed on Company business, and that entries on the time recording/costing system are accurately and reliably maintained.
Any other duty as may be discussed and agreed with the Controls & Systems Manager.
Limits of Authority:
To requisition special parts as necessary to achieve project requirements, drawing any customer changes, or unforeseen costs, or costs in excess of the price make-up, to the attention of the Controls & Systems Manager.
Use of Company pool cars to attend site meeting or training venue as requested.
Responsible for quality of output by self-check process and to check output from colleagues.
