The Role:
As a Junior Lighting Designer, you will be responsible for designing lighting concepts for projects which combine both functionality and appeal. The role will be based at our Headquarters in Havant, Hampshire.
Hours:
Monday to Friday 8.45am - 5.30pm
Key Responsibilities:
Designing and coordinating lighting projects from start to finish. This may include new build and refurbishment projects
Preparing detailed drawings, schedules and plans (manually, or using CAD, BIM or specialist modelling and visualisation software)
Liaising with the client, and other relevant stakeholders to present and discuss ideas, mock-ups, concepts, and alternative solutions where necessary
Liaising with suppliers
Briefing and liaising with electrical installation contractors
Ensuring compliance with building regulations
Growing new relationships and partnerships, to promote products
Assisting the lighting management team to devise monthly, quarterly, and annual plans to grow the company
Reporting back to teams in terms of product feedback from the market and end users
Collating specification sheets and associated documentation
Sourcing lighting products and building relationships with suppliers
Liaising with staff, clients, trades, suppliers, and other design professionals
Your Skills and Experience:
Basic understanding of mathematical concepts required
Good design and technical skills as well as being highly organised
IT skills are essential including proficient use of MS Office
Interest in interior design
Knowledge of Relux desirable
University Degree desirable
Ability to prioritise tasks and deadlines
Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
