My client is seeking an Internal Sales Engineer to join their small, dynamic internal sales team. This position focuses on responding to enquiries and converting them into sales, with an additional responsibility for engaging with target customers to understand their needs, explain the company's offerings, and book appointments for the Sales Director. Key responsibilities include:
Responding to inbound customer enquiries via phone and email by:
Asking questions to fully understand customer needs.
Providing technical advice when necessary.
Quoting from the company's stock list or working with the procurement department to request RFQs from approved suppliers.
Managing the sales pipeline and converting quotes to sales to achieve sales targets.
Raising POs with suppliers when customers place orders.
Keeping CRM, spreadsheets, and other documentation up-to-date and correctly issued.
Contacting potential customers in the target market to:
Understand their needs.
Explain the company's offerings.
Book appointments for the Sales Director.
Working as part of the team, actively participating in sales meetings by sharing data, learnings, and suggestions for continuous improvement.
Logging, investigating, and resolving customer issues as required.
You:
5+ years of experience selling valves or other mechanical items to industries such as water, wastewater, offshore, and petro-chemical sectors.
The ability to read data sheets and engineering drawings.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
A strong drive to hit sales targets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A high level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office packages and previous experience with a CRM system.
Benefits:
£28,000-£35,000
Uncapped commission plan with an OTE (basic + commission).
Early Friday finish every week.
Free parking.
Working hours: Monday to Thursday, 08:30 – 17:00 & Friday, 08:30 – 15:00.
25 days of holidays plus Bank Holidays.
