Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent surfacing contractors, delivering bespoke surfacing solutions across a wide range of industries nationwide and throughout the UK.
We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Supervisor to join our Operations Team; Location will cover Surrey, South and South West areas. You will manage daily site operations and assist our Contracts Managers in delivery of surfacing projects. This position has two shift patterns you will be required to work days or nights, the length of each shift would be 10 hours.
Role Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day site operations for surfacing project
Develop work plans, assist in creating project programmes, and place orders for necessary materials.
Plan works, assist in developing work programmes and place orders for materials
Communicating effectively daily with Crew / Foreman by carrying out daily briefings and through on-site presence
Supervise operations to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards, adhering to contract specifications and minimising the need for remedial actions.
Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards are met.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address any potential issues or hazards
Complete daily reports and submit them at the end of each visit.
Lead and motivate on site teams.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and contractors.
Supervise and ensure all operatives fully comply and adhere with the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
Report observations and near hits and assist in incident investigations and conduct root cause analyses to ensure corrective actions are implemented and completed.
Complete site-specific risk assessments to ensure that appropriate control measures are in place for safe work execution
Commercial Aspect of the role:
Place accurate and timely orders for materials and equipment to ensure efficient production while balancing costs against client value and compliance with standards.
Deliver on site works to managements programme, working within the constraints and specification of the contract.
Requirements
Construction Management Qualification (Beneficial)
SMSTS (Minimum SSSTS)
A Valid CSCS card
Experience in asphalts and road laying
Be a good communicator
Clean driving license as you will be issued a company car
