Area Technical Sales Executive

Surrey or surrounding (covering M3 / M4 corridor)

£40-50K depending on experience plus company care and commission

Our client is a major supplier of construction consumables, tools and fixing systems to the construction and civil engineering industries. This role will develop a plan to achieve sales targets through the M3 and M4 corridor. You will manage approx. 50 accounts in this region to drive additional spend and focus on new business activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achievement of revenue and profitability targets
  • Create a strategy for portfolio accounts ensuring you are driving increased product mix and margin
  • Forward planning to maximize effectiveness in the field with a balance between existing and new business accounts
  • Manage site activity liaising with relevant Regional Sales Managers
  • Detailed pre-call planning to ensure objectives met on customer visits
  • Prepare upcoming visits, calls and events and document results of these visits.
  • Identify development needs with Regional Sales Manager to ensure continued development
  • Initiate query management of allocated customers and pass information to Internal Sales Team to ensure query resolution
  • Forward orders and quotes to Internal Sales Team for processing

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven relevant experience in sales
  • Experienced in B2B sales across construction industry – ideally construction consumables
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Sales and customer experience
  • Full UK driving licence and be prepared to travel throughout M3/M4 corridor
  • CRM use and MS Office experienced
  • Adept at relationship building
  • Ability to think forward and creatively with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image
  • A well-organized and self-directed individual - communicative and assertive
  • Motivated with good time management
  • Strong business acumen and drive
