Our client is looking for a general labourer to join their expanding shopfitting and joinery team. This position has an immediate start for the right applicant. You will be working for a company that specialises in the manufacture and installation of bespoke joinery, fixtures, and fittings for the Retail, Commercial, Hospitality, and Leisure industries.
This position is for 39 hours, Monday to Friday and overtime is available on occasion. Salary is £11.44 - £13.00 p/h dependant on experience.
Main Responsibilities
Assist skilled joiners with their daily tasks, including moving and organising materials
Load and Unload timber and other materials in production
Maintain a clean and organised workshop
Help operative machinery and equipment if needed
Prepare timber and other products for processing
Carry our basic maintenance and safety checks on tools and machinery
Support warehouse team with packing and deliveries
Drive company can and deliver or collect materials as and when required
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a joinery workshop, construction or warehouse environment is advantageous but not essential.
Physically fit and able to handle manual work, including lifting heavy materials.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Basic understanding of health and safety practices, although training will be provided.
Ability to operate hand and power tools, training will be provided if required.
Experience using a forklift is advantageous but not essential.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Punctual, dependable, and committed to high standards of work.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
