Working with a trained drainage engineer making a two-man team to carry out repairs to all types of domestic drainage and waste pipes. The role will include digging ground to locate and replace broken sewer and water pipes, including the breaking up of concrete or tarmac and the later reinstatement. Also using rodding and jetting equipment to clear blockages.
Tasks will include but are not limited to:
Rodding drains
Worming pipes
Jetting sewers
Replacing gully grids
Replacing inspection covers
Digging ground/ wheeling barrows
Breaking concrete
Laying drain pipes
Basic waste pipe plumbing to baths, basin and sinks
Removing toilets and refitting (training will be given)
Laying bricks to form inspection chambers
Repairing cement benching to Inspection chambers
Using CCTV to inspect drainage systems, learn to write drainage reports
Using cable avoidance equipment to locate cables and pipes
Clearing rain water goods, gutters and flat roof gullies
Excavating and forming soakaways Investigating issues with rat ingress through drainage system.
Work can be both external in communal or garden area as well as working in people’s homes. Must be a well-motivated individual, willing to share the physical tasks to create a good team ethic
