Reactive Maintenance Supervisor

Summary of Role
Workshop Recruitment are looking for a full-time vacancy Supervisor within a busy Maintenance Team.
In this role you will be managing the work of the operatives to ensure that the right work is done at the right time to the agreed quality standards.
This will include leading, co-ordinating, motivating and training team members to meet the required performance standards.
You will also be using analytical methods to drive actions for improvement, which requires a good understanding of data analysis using excel spreadsheets.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Ensuring that repairs are undertaken in an efficient and cost effective manner, enabling efficient use of the team and in compliance with Health & Safety policies and statutory legislation.
  • Responsibility for the safety and welfare of direct labour and sub-contractors on site, including ensuring safe working practices & procedures are fully implemented and documented.
  • Daily team management, including being responsible for absence management meetings, communicating information, gaining feedback from operatives and assisting with training and development of your team via tool box talks, coaching etc.
  • Supporting operatives when they are on the evening/weekend call-out rota through the escalation process.
  • Providing technical advice, support and guidance to operatives and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Collecting and presenting data requests and implementing and driving actions for improvement gained from data analysis.
  • Managing team performance, establishing performance improvements required and implementing action plans.
  • Implementing Systems Thinking techniques to deliver high quality service at a cost relevant to the contract.
  • Undertaking pre-work inspections as and when required.
  • Undertaking quality assessments and providing instructions to rectify any snagging, defects and/or uncompleted works.
  • Liaising with tenants regarding scope of service provision and to resolve issues/manage expectations.
  • Liaison with the Clients and CDM Co-ordinator to provide works updates and resolve issues.
  • Ensuring all administration responsibilities are carried out in an accurate and timely manner.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Intermediate Excel/Outlook skills : ability to extract data and use it
  • Good Commercial awareness and understanding of the impact of costs
  • Awareness of CDM regulations and H&S Training
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Strong decision-making/problem solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated
