Workshop Recruitment’s client are looking for Building Fabric Manager working for Hampshire County Council.
The role will be to manage maintenance repairs for 1000+ buildings across the East side of Hampshire.
Work will be carried out on schools, office buildings, nursing homes, libraries, museums and more.
Key Activities
Ensuring the right level of trades and sub-contractors are present to complete the work
Support and train sub-contractors, direct trades and supervisors
Source materials, plant and sub-contractors for unusual works
Maintaining the contractual agreements by ensuring all works are carried out as agreed
Support supervisors with problem solving and finding the right solutions
Understand and enforce all Health and Safety
Deputise for the Contracts Manager and be a part of “out-of-hours” rotas as required
Skills Required
Technical building knowledge of working methods, practices, processes, regulations and legislation
Be the technical expert for all works associated with the contract and able to provide solutions
Able to use MS Office software and internal IT systems (with training)
Be able to self-manage, motivate the team and overcome problems
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade (this is essential)
Degree, Diploma or HNC in construction or a surveying discipline (desirable or working towards)
SSSTS/IOSH (desirable)
Relevant Experience
3 years’ experience managing/supervising or maintenance repairs
5+ years’ experience working within a relevant trade (essential)
Experience working on commercial and domestic buildings
